June workshops!
Mother wound, inner childn, Bridgerton, climate change/summer, nostalgia, fantasy, girlhood, PRIDE!
Hi, Sprites! Nashira here with a packed announcement! We have 8 workshops coming up:
Friday, June 14: The Mother Wound by Maria & Nashira 🍓🍍
This workshop targets the complicated relationship (or lack thereof) many of us have with our mothers. Through writing, we will examine the anger, loneliness, grief, confusion, and guilt that arises from this connection, giving a platform to process and communicate our emotions. Sign up here!
Saturday, June 15: Inner Child by Blossom 🍒
This workshop is all about answering the question ‘what does your inner child need?’. Honour your younger self by holding space for their desires, worries, and fears that might be showing up in your present life too. Sign up here!
Sunday, June 16: Bridgerton by Blossom & Maria 🍒🍓
Dearest Readers,
This author finds herself in eager anticipation of the words we will weave together today. Like many members of the ton, I’ve witnessed conformity, duty, and loyalty—as well as the fruits of these societal rules and its bounty when we reject it.
Are they petty or necessary? What would we all do if we were free to act as we wish?
For a very special edition of Lady Whistledown, let us re-examine why society drives us.
Whilst our writing time may be short, one must remember that diamonds are made under pressure.
Yours Truly,
Lady Whistledown
Friday, June 21: Climate Change & Summer Memories by Nashira 🍍
This workshop will be a deep dive into our more intimate memories of nature, specifically your childhood summers, how you spent them and who you spent them with, and the role climate played in that part of your life. Sign up here!
Saturday, June 22: Nostalgia by Blossom 🍒
Today we are wrapping ourselves in that bittersweet blanket that is nostalgia. Grab your favourite childhood cereal and snuggle up on the sofa! Sign up here!
Sunday, June 23: Rose Fairy Kingdom by Blossom & Nashira 🍒🍍
A workshop held in celebration of our beloved magical girl Maria’s birthday 🎈 Grab your finest coat, glass slippers, dazzling tiaras and crowns: for one night, we gather in a garden of magical prose and fantasy poetry. Welcome to the Rose Fairy Kingdom — Sign up here!
Friday, June 28: We Were Girls Together by Maria 🍓
Be it “we were girls together,” printed on a park bench to memorialize a friend, or Toni Morrison’s “We was girls together,” in her 1973 novel Sula—to be a girl and to be together equates to profound kinship. As a result, this workshop will explore girlhood. We’ll also examine the power, transformation, and importance of female friendship, particularly as we age. Sign up here!
Sunday, June 30: Queer Creativity by Blossom & Nashira 🍒🍍
This workshop is all about queer artists! Through writing, we will explore our individual journeys, reflecting on how things have changed as we’ve grown, and our hopes for the future. There is no one single queer narrative–our experiences are unique and beautiful and we can’t wait to hear yours! Sign up here!
As always, you’re invited to sign up for the materials even if you can’t make the live session. Can’t swing a ticket right now but want to come? Email us hi@poetryorchard.com and we’ll send you the links, no questions asked. Hope to see you there.
Warm wishes & butterfly kisses,
Nashira 🍍
